About Us

THE SKIPPER, Tom Fallows

With his US Coast Guard “six pack” commercial license, Tom serves as the Skipper to guide the sailing outing as a highly experienced sailor. He began his involvement with boats in the early 60s at Newport Beach, California (pictured below!) and added to it while sailing at boy scout camp at a lake in California and later on the Charles River in Boston. While living in Italy for 10 years, he sailed out of the coast on the Italian riviera (Liguria, Cinque Terre) and sailed windsurfs and small craft on a lake outside of Rome. Summer cruises in Greece, Turkey and Sicily. On vacation in Hawaii and Phuket, he’d rent a boat for an outing. Then in Hong Kong in the 2000s he took courses and enrolled in the local sailing club.

After being overseas for 30 years living in Moscow, Rome, Milan, Paris, Seoul, Hong Kong and Riyadh) (where he was first an aspiring Professor of Russian History and then eventually a Corporate & Investment banker for Citigroup and wealth management advisor in Saudi Arabia), Tom returned with his wife Evelyne to New York. They bought the boat “As One Does” (a 30-foot C&C Mark I ‘cruiser/racer’) in 2019 and enjoyed the sailing season out of New Rochelle for many years. Besides his USCG commercial license, Tom is also a Certified Instructor for sailing lessons (ASA 101 and ASA 103). He then had to sell his boat in 2025 due to some health issues.

Recovering since then, Tom is a “sailor without a boat”. But has gained experience for bareboat chartering in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, on a catamaran. And he teamed up with the new owner Jonah Brown (see below) for a new sailing partnership.

THE OWNER, JONAH BROWN

Jonah and Tom are partners for your sailing outing: Tom is the USCG-registered Skipper, and Jonah is the owner of the vessel. Jonah himself has lived with boats for most of his life, growing up in a family of fishermen in Louisiana. While finishing his studies at Arizona State University in child psychology, Jonah moved to New York City and decided to buy a boat to pursue his dream of preparing to sail across the Atlantic (with a target to arrive in Ireland). The boat is his home, where he has done significant improvements to the vessel. While serving as Crewin the outing, Jonah can give customers special insights on the sailing experience from the standpoint of the young generation.

THE VESSEL, “AS ONE DOES”

We will be sailing with Jonah’s sailboat, “As One Does”. The boat is a vintage C&C sloop, 30-foot sailboat based in Jersey City, New Jersey. The boat is a “racer/cruiser'“ designed for performance sailing alongside comfort for travelling medium-range distances. Jonah welcomes guests to his residence on the boat with all the comforts of home.
